The NEW Cisco GLC-LH-SMD is a Single Mode SFP transceiver supporting Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel applications. It operates at 1310nm with an LC duplex connector, ensuring compatibility with SMF for up to 10km long-haul data transmission.
Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) provides real-time diagnostics, including optical power levels and operating temperature. Hot-swappable design enables quick replacement without network disruption. Backward compatibility ensures support for older networking equipment using standard IEEE-compliant interfaces.
The module supports link lengths of up to 550m on MMF when used with mode-conditioning patch cables, enhancing flexibility in different deployments involving both SMF and MMF solutions while maintaining reliable connectivity across extended distances.
